Lube...Expiration Date?

Hey Guys...
My boyfriend and I were talking....
We hadn't had sex for a while...well like a month...and we had this moderate sized bottle of lube that we were using. Now that we're back into the swing of things it just seems like the lube dries up really quickly now...when it used to last us no problem.
So we're couldn't figure out what was up...
Does Water-Based Lube expire?

Check the bottle....if there's no expiration date then it probably doesn't expire.

a month isn't that long of a time

It does expire, but it usually takes a year or two from time of purchase, possibly longer. I don't remember how long it took mine to expire, but I still use it with my vibrator, even though it's a good year expired and I have no problems with it.

As the fantastic women at Toys in Babeland (www.babeland.com) explained to me, if you find water-based lube (especially if it's expired) drying up more quickly, just add a tiny bit of water or spit and you'll find it gets nice and wet again right quick. It's just that as it gets older, it dries up more quickly. There's nothing wrong with it, though, and it will still work just fine, but you might have to help it along with a sprinkling of water or a quick drop of spit.

Some lubes just dry up faster than others. (i.e. those evil stupid flavored lubes are just...crap. blah!)

I personally recommend Eros lube, however, it is not safe for use with condoms or silicon toys. It is hands down the best lube I've ever used. It takes ages for it to wear off, doesn't have any real discernable taste, etc.

Hi there. I'm concerned this may be misinformation. For more information on what we mean by "misinformation," please refer to the following portions of our FAQ:

For information on eros and it's safety with condoms, please refer to their FAQ, question 3.

Eros is completely safe for use with condoms. And it's awesome. :)

Could you have left the bottle slightly open? That's all I can think of. In any case, like others have said, you can always revive it with a spritz of water when it starts to dry.
