smoking + vagina = ?

I was wondering if any of the smokers here have noticed anything ... well, different about their vaginas since they began smoking. Over the summer, my habit became exponentially worse and at the same time, I noticed that the smell and taste of ... me changed. I don't think it is necessarily worse. Just different.

Anyone else?

Oh my Lord in heaven, I was just going to post a question about smoking and vagina scent, but I was looking through the archives and whatnot, first.

Here's my deal, I smoked since I was 14 and FINALLY, after 5 years just quit cold turkey. It's been two weeks since I haven't smoked and let me tell you, I have noticed exceptional changes in my smell. Before it was very strong, not bad, but pretty strong. Now that I've quit, it's almost barely-there. I mean, it's there, but just a very light scent. My boyfriend said the taste is much different and a lot more "light" as well.

So, I was going to ask if anyone who quit smoking experienced this? Or does anyone know if there is actually a significant difference between a smoker and non-smokers smell? And why? What causes it?

I couldn't find much when I googled "nicotine and vaginal smell" although a week ago I read one little thing that mentioned that nicotine sits on the cervix or something, causes the scent to change.

I don't know. It's just unbelievable [and VERY exciting] about how quickly and significantly my smell changed. =D

So, as an answer to your question, I would say yes, smoking definitely does affect your scent, in my point of view. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this and how they felt and what they know about it.

Hahaha, I can see it now: "Surgeon General Warning: Smoking may cause strong or unpleasant smells of the vagina. Smoke at your own risk."

Yes, smoking will affect your taste/smell. Like you said, not necessarily negatively, but it does indeed affect it.

P.S. You girls are funny. :)

I've been smoking for 14 years and haven't had any complaints :)

There was a 3 year period in there that I had quit and I noticed that my SENSE of smell and taste changed. Food tasted different, candles smelled different. Maybe your snatch hasn't changed, just your nose :)

My mom has smoked for years & years, but over the past few months she's been smoking alot more. Just a couple days ago she mentioned that she was paranoid about her scent...she said it had been changing over the past few months. She described it as not bad, just different & a bit stronger. Maybe there is a connection with the smoking & scent?

Yes, my mom & I sit around the kitchen table talking about vagina.

Anyway, I don't have any links or proof to back me up so it's just my opinion, but I think there could be a conection. Anything you put in your body can change your scent & taste. This summer I discovered that anytime I would cut up my mom's green onions with dinner, my discharge would smell like that for the next day or so. I never once ate any, but later that night I would notice that green onion smell & it would last about 24 hours, but it didn't really effect the taste. You don't know how many time I wanted to make a post here about my green onion smell after cutting those things up. :b

Thanks...I think it's amazing & you would, too, if you knew my mommy. She still can't say the word "tampon" (calls them "personal things"), but I've actually worked with her & she can actually ask vagina questions now! She may not use all the words, but her talking about anything vagina or sex related makes me proud. I finally rubbed off on her. :b

do you think it was the skin-onion connection or the breathing of onion smell that made you smell like them?
moochar 27th-Oct-2005 03:07 am (UTC)
It would have the be the breathing thing I'd think. I'd wash my hands right after with soap & there was no more smell there, I didn't touch my vagina anytime of course while cutting them. :) The discharge didn't start that onion scent until hours later really.

Doesn't surprise me if there is a change, my ex smoked and his semen tasted a LOT different the more or less he smoked and in comparison to my current partner who hasn't smoked in years. Pot also changes taste.

hahaha, I was trying to be more polite but yeah, gross is right XD Alcohol is supposed to make it taste more sweet but I haven't had any experience, the one time the ex was drinking a lot he fell asleep before anything sexual could happen ;p and my current partner decided to completely give up alcohol before we got together.

Although gross also happens with PIZZA.... SO SALTY!!! Does NOT work for me!

the boys need to drink juice. I found that the more juice they drink, the better it tastes. I always tell my SO to drink lots of juice..that way its more enjoyable for BOTH of us. ha
zellie_bean 26th-Oct-2005 01:24 am (UTC)
I actually drink juice so *I* taste better ;) but yeah, that seems to help his taste too. We had a great pinapple-apple-orange juice routine going before we moved, I need to start picking that up again! I haven't found a store that carries it though.

When I smoked, my vag smelled the same (which I am told smells very good) as it does now, after being off ciggs for aboot 8 months.
