vaginal itching after oral sex?

Hi Superstars!

So anytime after my husband performs oral sex on me, the inside of my labia and vagina start to itch very badly. The itching goes on for two or three days, then goes away. Could it be some sort of bacterial reaction? Or maybe a yeast infection (I've never had a yeast infection that I know of, so I don't have a good frame of reference)?

Thank you for your input!

Well, mouths are full of bacteria. It is definitely your body reacting to that. Some things that could help cut some of that down is oral care brushing his teeth, and/or using Listerine beforehand.

Does he eat, drink, or smoke anything you're allergic to? Does taking an antihistamine/allergy pill help? (You might simply be allergic to his saliva!)

I would be suspicious of a micro-yeastie, or something that flares up after the oral sex, but I'd stick to treatments like a vinegar-in-shallow-bath soak rather than medicated stuff, on the grounds that if it's not yeast, over-the-counter medication could cause resistant yeast for later.

If you have a doctor, it might also be worth asking them to do a swab and see if you might have a low-grade yeast infection or bacterial one.

Good luck! That sounds very annoying; maybe have him use a dental dam sometime and see if it's just the stimulation that's doing it (in which case, nerves are weird and WTHeck, nerves, what the heck?).
