Dang; their website is not helpful...

Which product was it, and how much got into the vagina? If it's the stuff from https://www.wikihow.com/Use-Vagisil , then that sounds like... Ah, here we go. That page says that the active ingredient is benzocaine. And https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzocaine gives more data.

Basically, it's an anesthetic that's designed to go through skin. Your mucous membranes -- the tissues in the vagina -- will absorb it more easily, so you could get an "overdose" that way. (Also, the first time you use it, there's a risk of an allergic reaction, so... yeah, would rather not have the area become inflamed and painful!) If just a little gets around the inner labia and entry to the vagina, then you're probably fine. (It's for use in that area, after all!) Just watch out for listed side effects.

If you have internal itching, then you might want to talk to a doctor about testing to see if you have a yeast infection or a BV infection -- though either of those, if mild enough, might respond to taking shallow baths with a lot of vinegar added. (If it's so much that it burns, rinse and dilute the water!)

Definitely please don't douche, though: there are a lot of studies that show that it makes the vaginal ecosystem more vulnerable to bad bacteria, including infections that can get into the uterus. ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2567125/ )

I hope that's helpful!
