Update on Mirena/Endo/PCOS

My insurance is giving me a major run-around about the Mirena, and my gyn office refuses to help me figure it out anymore, so I'm taking it as a sign that I'm not supposed to get it replaced. I spent 5 hours on the phone in total today, and I'm too exhausted to repeat it tomorrow. I've also read a lot about people losing weight and gaining tons of energy after getting the Mirena taken out. I know my other issues are probably to blame for my feeling crappy and gaining 70 lbs in 4.5 years, but I'll kick myself if I don't try. I can always have another one put in later if I change my mind, right? I'll probably ask the doctor about pills just in case. =/

I kind of want to cry because it feels like my insurance company wants me to bleed to death and my gyn office doesn't care enough to go to bat for me. The receptionist kind of snapped at me that she'd already called them twice and had it in writing that my plan covers no IUDs whatsoever, even though the insurance company said otherwise. And the law says otherwise. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. If I end up in the ER again, I guess I'll go to Planned Parenthood and pay cash. In the meantime, I'm considering a hysterectomy and also suing my insurance company. :)
