A one-off bumpy situation...twice?

Hi all, first time posting here. I had a recent "situation" that was not the first time this has happened and rather than self-diagnose via WebMD I figured readers of VP may have better insight! Here goes:
Approx. 2 years ago I was seeing someone off and on. A few days after we had sex (with condom) I developed one large bump on my inner labia. It burst just from the pressure of wiping and was mainly blood. The spot never healed 100% and that bit of skin is a bit tougher now and feels like a tiny bump is still inside. This was the only bump that appeared and it never re-emerged so I took it as a case of friction-induced ingrown hair and moved on with life.
Recently I started dating someone and we have had sex twice. The first time wasn't "scheduled" so I hadn't shaved beforehand. Again, protected - no problems. A few weeks later we had a planned date so I did the usual ridiculous amount of prep. A full week later, another one of these bumps popped up, this time on the opposite side and again burst as soon as I felt it. All blood, a tiny pinpoint of pus and I am fairly confident there was a hair in the middle of it all. I haven't over-examined myself this time out of fear of scarring, but I have made an appt with my obgyn. This is the first person I have slept with since the first occurrence of the mystery bump and now I am concerned that it's an underlying issue or infection that I may have inadvertently passed on to my current beau. I am going to request a full screening just for my own peace of mind (as well as his).
The word I would use to describe it is a blister, but it wasn't painful in the slightest and the area isn't irritated. Any input would be great! thx
