Endocrinologist Visit

I'm going to post under the cut about weight issues, birth control usage, blood panel information and aging.

Today I visited an endocrinologist.  I felt like at 41 it's odd for me to "all of a sudden" have weight issues.  I've gained more than I'm comfortable with at this time.  I've put on a good 10-15 lbs, which significant for me... over the past six months.  I've gotten a little upset over this and have stopped stepping on the scale.

I've been working out 4 or 5 times a week and seeing little to no major difference in my weight.

Some background... I stopped taking any birth control back in December as Mirena wasn't right for me.  So for the first time in 20+ years I've been not on any birth control.

Anyway, the endocrinologist took my blood and ordered up the following tests:  TSH (High Sensitivity), T4 Free Non Dialysis, Thyroglbulin Antibodies, Microsomal TPO-Ab, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, CBC w/Diff W/ PLT, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D 25-Hydroxy.

I also already take 2,000 IUs of Vitamin D daily.

Just wondering if women at 41 or around the same age have experienced this slow down in metabolism.

I should receive my results in a few days.
