Anonymous Post - Follow-up on Issues Having First-Time PIV Sex

Hi, all! As you may know, there are times when a VP maintainer will post on behalf of someone who wishes to remain anonymous. This post is a follow-up to a previous post from the same poster. Please continue with your regularly scheduled awesomeness and help this person out with some follow-up feedback and information. :)

Previous post explaining the situation is here.

From what people said, they think that the problem is that my girlfriend has a thicker than normal hymen.. well I looked the other day, and she's never actually examined it before herself, so she didn't even know what it looked like (I took a picture to show her with flash so there was good lighting and all).

I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is the actual hymen or not.. but I can describe it.

From what I've read online, the hymen is mucosa, which is mucous membrane tissue or something like that.. and it doesn't extend across the opening like most sources say, but rather either surrounds the opening or is attached to the bottom like a donut or half moon shape. Well, when I looked down there, and looked really hard, mind you, I saw the opening which was about the size of one of these letters (tiny). Surrounding it was this pink tissue shaped like a donut around the hole (we'll use this word for example's sake). It had a whitish hue to it, which I think is due to the fact that it's mucosal tissue.. so it has mucus and whatnot in it, therefore giving it that color.

If i'm right; my guess is that this is the hymen? It's kinda scrunched but looks like a donut ring around the opening to her vagina. Even if they remove it, I can see how she'd still be kind of small (she's small as it is height-wise as well) but it will definitely be a lot better.. if this is the hymen, then she does think she's going to see the gyno soon (hopefully) and that maybe the doc will recommend the hymenectomy or some other practice to fix it. She can't even stick a finger in; any pressure hurts / feels uncomfortable, but anything going in hurts more.
