i had my pap smear and blood work for stds done 2 weeks ago. today, my doctor called me at 5pm to inform me of my results. unfortunately, i missed her call so she left a voicemail asking i call back. i called her back, only to find out that the office is closed on saturdays!
now i'm freaking out. was there something wrong with my results? what can be so urgent that she has to call me late saturday when they aren't even open? when i got my 1st pap smear in the past at my university's health clinic, i never got a callback for over a month. when i finally called to get my results, the nurse told me everything was fine.
this current doctor suggested i call back 2 weeks after the test if they forget to call. normally, to my knowledge, offices don't call patients unless there's a problem ....and to have the gynecologist, herself, call me back is really frightening.
does anyone have experiences they can share? when doctors leave a voicemail like this, is it typically a good or bad thing? i don't think i'll be able to do anything this whole weekend due to the anxiety :(
thank you in advance!
