Sockpuppet account because I'm very private about my body and don't want this connected to me

but I don't know who else to ask, because I'm dying of embarrassment and I can't really afford to go to the doctor on a whim. I've looked around and as far as I can tell the answer to my question isn't anywhere to be found.

Recently, I lost a tampon up there. It was lost for either three or four days, depending on whether or not I jammed two up there at once, or if I just forgot about the last one, I'm really not sure. Anyway, I found it and got it out, of course. I don't think there was a risk of TSS, because I have been carefully monitoring my temperature and body for signs of illness and none so far. The problem is, there's still gross yellow discharge, and I would really like it to stop. It's been three days with constant yellow, thick, stinky discharge every day, I hate it and it's gross.

I want to know: should I be worried? If I should be worried, what should I do? If there's something I should do, what is the most discreet possible way to do it? If this is normal, how long should I expect it to go on? Is there anything I can do to speed the healing process along? And, again, if so, what is the most private, discreet way of doing it?

Thank you for your help. This site has helped me hugely in the past find answers I needed without having to ask anyone, so I'm happy to post here and hopefully help someone else in the future find an answer they were looking for.
