After 2 years and 7 months... I think my copper T IUD has to go.
I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning to discuss my options, but I don't think there's much she can say to make me think it's worth keeping the IUD.
I had a perfect first 9 months - and it's all been downhill from there. I'm now at the point where I have an incredibly sensitive cervix, severe cramps which aren't helped by over-the-counter drugs, heavy bleeding for my period, and also three days or so of spotting and cramping around ovulation. So for over half the month I'm now in pain, spotting and cramping. Time for the little copper invader to get out!
I spent many years taking Cerazette, which I got along very well with, apart from remembering to take it. I was never terrible, but sometimes I would forget.
With this in mind, I'm wondering what experiences people have had with the Nexplanon implant - especially if you've also done well with Cerazette!
And general implant pros and cons you might have experienced that they don't always tell you about, too ;)
I'm in no rush to make a choice, as I doubt they'll remove my IUD tomorrow - I think we'll make a plan and then have it out asap, and either an implant put in, or just go back on the pills.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
