Hello, friends! I just got back from my annual with my gynocologist, who stressed to me that I should really look at other options for birth control than sprintec. I've been on some form of estrogen or estrogen w/ progesterone pill since sixteen in order to manage my PCOS, and I've had success with them, but because I suffer from migraines with aura my risk of developing a stroke or blood clot is 4x that of others on the same medication. She admitted that this is still a very, very small risk, but because the potential damage would be so bad it would be a good idea to look at other options.
I'm really happy with sprintec and don't want to change, but if there's something out that's better I wouldn't be averse to trying it. And so, I turn to you guys! What experiences have you had with the progesterone-only pill, with the Mirena IUD, the NuvaRing, or with the implant? Specifically, I'm looking for stories from people who have used these methods to treat PCOS.
A little more info about me and my health: I've tried an IUD before, but after four weeks my uterus said "Nope!" and expelled it, which was painful as heck, so I'm leery of trying that again
