Ovarian cysts that wake you up at night?

I have some questions that I hope someone with experience with ovarian cysts can help me out with.

I've had some issues over the last few days, and I also dealt with similar issues a few years back. I was uninsured the first time it happened and stopped taking birth control pills because I was single an couldn't afford them anyway. Back then, I went into Planned Parenthood because I knew something was wrong. She gave me the typical pap smear and checked for STD's, but said that all the symptoms sounded like ovarian cysts. She put me back on the pill and all was well again.

Until a few days ago with the intense pain. I swear it's the worst pain of my life and it wakes me up out of a dead sleep. I went to Urgent Care, they sent me to the ER thinking it was kidney stones, and they ruled that out with a CT scan as well as ruled out a UTI. They said it was cystitis and sent me on my way with antibiotics.

Now I am bleeding and I shouldn't be. I take Lo Loestrin and I never get my periods, and I am still taking the pill. I had issues where my periods would last for 4-6 weeks at a time if I tried pills where I could have them. It's like once I start my period, it doesn't want to stop. So I just never start them and the doctor knows all this and agrees this is the best way to go. But I am bleeding as such and I have mild cramps all day and I have been woken up every night with the intense pain that eventually goes away after a few minutes.

I'm thinking the doctor was right years ago and it's cysts rupturing.

My pharmacy screwed up and I had to go several days without my birth control pills. Longer than the placebo period even. I started getting cramps and noticed mood changes back then, but there was nothing I could do. They were supposed to call and clear it up with my doctor. I gave them a few days, came back and found out they hadn't called so I had to wait another few days.

That was just a week or two ago. I am now back on the pills, but I may have ovulated during that time and set off the ovarian cysts all over again? That would be my theory.

What I've noticed is that the intense pain only comes on when I'm sleeping and they only come on when I'm on my back. I always wake up on my back and in intense pain. This was how it happened years ago too.

I had my annual exam the weekend of Memorial Day. I was normal back then of course, so no need to have mentioned it. I haven't gotten the results yet so I will call the doctor on Monday and see what she says. But I have a hard time getting out of work to go to the doctor. I started a new job last week and already took a sick day from the ER visit. I am not supposed to even have sick days yet since I just started. Because of another non-related issue which has been causing me massive stress for three weeks, I have been missing some time at work for that as well.

But I will do my best. I just want to have an idea of what to tell them to check for, make sure we can expedite this entire thing instead of me spending money I don't have looking for kidney stones or taking medicine that doesn't work for cystitis.

So my question is this: Has anyone else experienced ovarian cyst pain that hit like that? Where it hits suddenly on my sleep, lasts for about 10-15 minutes and goes away and that it mainly happens when I sleep on my back? Does that sound about right?

Thank you! Sorry for the long post, it's just a complicated issue :/
