Anonymous post: bumps around entrance to vagina

Greetings, fellow Superstars! As you probably know, from time to time the VP Team makes posts on behalf of people who wish to remain anonymous or who do not have LJ accounts. This is one such post. Thanks in advance for your helpful comments. :)

for the VP Team

I'm writing out of concern caused by several bumps I've discovered around the entrance to my vagina. About a week before my menstruation, I noticed intense itching around the entrance, but only at night. And during the removal of my NuvaRing, I noticed itching inside my vagina upon being touched. I took out my handy mirror and discovered said bumps and felt concerned that they may be genital warts. I really wish I had taken a picture but the best way I can describe them is that they reminded me of old, "bumpy", keloid scars that get irritated from time to time. My last mense, I had a yeast infection the week before so I decided to treat this as a YI while I'm waiting to get a dr. appointment scheduled. A clove of garlic seemed to help and upon further inspection today the bumps seem to have reduced down to what they "normally" were before. For what it's worth, during this time I kept feeling like there was air "hovering" around either my urethra or vaginal entrance. Discharge was a little excessive, but not by too much and not with a distinctive smell.

I've always assumed these bumps were normal for my body, but the "flare up" is disheartening. I've been in a monogamous relationship with my first and only sexual
partner for the past five years, and past paps have been "normal" as well as none of my OBGYNs remarking on anything about the appearance. Is this normal for YI's or could they be warts? Or something else? And if it was a YI, any reasons as to why I would be getting them a week before my cycle?

Thanks so much in advance.
