Last time I saw my doctor we decided that the Mirena IUD would be a good option for me, and she gave me the choice of going to the only gynecologist she recommends, who has a several-month wait time for appointments, or going to Planned Parenthood and actually getting it done this century. I chose the latter option because I'm impatient.
But... I haven't been able to call and make the appointment. I have really, really bad social phobia, and particular issues with phones, and it's all just completely terrifying. And I thought that it might be a bit easier if I knew exactly what I was going to say and had reassurance that it wasn't the wrong thing to say.
So. Do I just call the clinic (I know which one I'll be going to and have their number) and say "I'd like to make an appointment to get the Mirena IUD" or should I say something else or...? Is there other relevant information I should mention?
How do you even pronounce Mirena, for that matter?
EDIT: Thank you so much for the help and reassurance! I worked up the nerve to call earlier and everything went just fine. ♥
