Hey everyone! I had an abnormal Pap smear about a week ago, and they can't do the colposcopy until next week(something about it having to be done halfway through my cycle or something). So basically, they didn't tell me much, they said there were signs of dysplasia, which is something I don't quite understand. I do have HPV, the type that causes genital warts. I've only known about that for a couple months now. I know that type does not cause abnormal pap smears at all, so if there's signs of dysplasia, does that mean I have another type of HPV as well? Because you can only get cervical cancer and cervical cancer causing cells from HPV, correct? I just don't want to sit around and wonder all weekend. I just want a bit of insight on this because my gynecologist won't take phone calls at all.
Edited to add, I also missed my period this month and last, but have been spotting for the past month. There's no chance I could be pregnant either as I haven't been sexually active since I found out about the HPV in February.
