So I've convinced my cis male partner to go get his first STD screen at the ripe old age of 26.
He's going to get blood work specifically to find out whether or not he has herpes. Is this the right route? I feel like I've heard before that having the antibodies in your blood is one of the only ways to know for sure whether you're carrying it. Am I misled?
And what should he say to the doctors? Simply tell them that he wants his blood checked for any and all signs of STDs, with an emphasis on herpes? I'm sort of acting as adviser here, and I don't want to give him wrong information...
