Phew! Things are finally coming to a close. I think this is my "final boss battle", if you will.
Yesterday, I finally got to see my gyn who told me that everything on my cultures came up negative (no STIs, no yeast, no nothing!), except for my bacterial culture which came up "indeterminate". Apparently that means that more likely than naught I had/have BV, which is what he diagnosed me with. He asked me how the amoxicillin went (didn't help), and went on to prescribe me flagyl. I explained that I've been doing so much better after switching detergents (a few of my mom's friends divulged that using this detergent resulted in them having BV), using tea tree oil and taking boric acid. He didn't seem convinced, but still was happy that I'm doing better. But... he still prescribed me flagyl (in his words "just in case").
Now... Should I take it or not? Boric acid has made me feel good enough that I've been able to spend quality time with my boyfriend (ahem). Sometimes I still get a little itchy, but I think it may be mostly because once I get a little "excited" I get very wet very fast (and I couldn't when I had raging BV because it would hurt too much). Also, I'm super sensitive (like, if you grab me I will turn pink and get a rash) and not removing my hair has caused me to be super scratchy.
I'm just absolutely terrified it will come back. I think I've had it for a very long time (memories of being 13 and crying in the bathroom at school because walking was just too painful), and I kind of want to be able to deal with it. This will be my 8th or 9th night of taking boric acid too.
