Superstars! I think I might have recently had an ovarian cyst that burst. Kind folks here suggested I see a doc, but I have a Question I Have Always Wanted To Have Answered. If I've got an ovarian cyst, or if I had one that burst recently, what can the doc do? My past experiences with ob/gyns suggest that they feel my ovaries, possibly look at them with an ultrasound, and say "Yep, that's a cyst. Take painkillers." Should something else be happening?
I have a Mirena and I think these slightly increase the risk of said cysts, but my docs have id-ed them on ultrasounds before...I'm prone to them, apparently. I have had sex with condoms in the past month, but I'm currently doing whatever bleeding it is you get with a Mirena (heavily and on schedule) and so I am very confident there is no ectopic pregnancy in the offing.
