I'm posting this feeling overwhelmed and nervous. I had hormonal and other testing done via blood because I've suddenly had longer cycles (34 to 40 days), acne and hair shedding. I was tested for pcos but everything in my blood came back normal it seems except prolactin.
They told me levels should be under 20 and mine was in the 40s range. She wants to do another blood test in a few weeks and if it's still high theyll do a MRI. This has me so worried!
Does anyone know much about prolactin? Could stress cause a false elevation? I was nervous the entire ride to the blood work and waiting for woman that my heart was racing and I was shaking. As she drew the blood I was shaking my legs and my heart was racing still. I'm not sure if this caused an issue. Not to mention I'm a chronic emotional worrier and obsess about my health daily.
Any info would be appreciated. Thank you everyone :)
