Currently I suffer from vulvodynia, though over the past year or so it's gotten a lot better. I definitely did the merry go 'round of misdiagnoses and meds, but I think I've got it pretty well managed and have a feeling that it will just continue to get better on it's own.
My question is in regards to vaginal muscle tone. One of the characteristics of vulvodynia for me is pain at the entrance. My current partner is very large for me, so we've always tried to go slow, use lots of lube, etc. Ever since I got the vulvodynia though, sometimes when we have sex it's like my vaginal muscles feel...god, I don't even know how to adequately describe it...sore, yes, but also, droopy, if that makes any sense. Like, I know my vagina isn't going to fall out, but frankly it feels that way sometimes, and it's bizarre and a bit distressing. This also happens when I have my period, everything just feels very "low" and heavy, including my uterus. I've been trying to do kegels lately, but I don't know if it's helping yet. Also, this never happened to me prior to the vulvodynia, and I was with my current partner before I was diagnosed. Before I got the vulvodynia, we could have sex a lot more vigorously and in a more carefree manner, and I would never feel terribly sore as I will now sometimes.
I was just wondering if anyone had any kind of insight/experience with this sort of thing. Like I said, I'm trying to do kegels, but I'm not sure what else, if anything I could do.
Thank you so much in advance!! :)
