Whenever I have menstrual cramps (normally in the first day or two of my period) I feel pretty nauseous. I'm pretty sure it's because of the cramps, since at no other point during my period does this happen to me and, in general, I feel nauseous whenever I experience pain. However, when it is not menstrual cramp pain (i.e., falling down pretty hard, hitting my funny bone, bike accidents) nausea comes with intense pain. My cramps are nowhere near intense--just pretty steady and constant. (Pain scale, 1.5-1.7, versus the 4-6 range that's normally needed to make me feel nauseous.)
Advil/Midol helps with pain, but not the nausea. All food that normally settles my stomach irritates it. Pressure does help, but the nausea tends to strike at the middle of the day when I don't have the time to take a moment and apply pressure to my abdomen.
