So as some of you know, I use FAM and chart my cycles every month, mainly using my basal body temperature. This month, I definitely did NOT ovulate, and I suspected a cyst was to blame. I've been hoping I'd go ahead and have a bleed anyway, so that I could start a new cycle. I'm concerned because I've had several anovulatory cycles now, and I'd really like to have as much info as possible before going to the doctor. At any rate, I woke up this morning with some cramping and was pretty sure I was going to start bleeding...but then, I was hit with this awful, stabbing, unrelenting pain/cramping. I had to lie down on the floor, and I immediately broke out in a cold, clammy sweat. I was shaking, my ears were ringing, and my vision was fuzzy. I started hyperventilating, and then I vomited. I had my laptop with me, and I got on facebook and talked to a friend and told her I thought I was about to black out. She got on the phone with me, and eventually, the pain subsided (though I feel like I've been punched in the gut and/or done multiple sit ups).
I have had pain similar to this--requiring the fetal position and a heating pad and vomiting, but I've never been so absolutely certain I was going to pass out. I've never been so close to wanting to go to the ER. Is this what an ovarian cyst rupture feels like?
Now that the pain has subsided (though I still just want to curl on the couch with my heating pad), can I assume that I'm probably going to be fine? I know to watch out for fever and stuff....ALSO..if this is a cyst that finally rupture, can I assume I'll start my "period" (not really a period if I didn't ovulate...but at least a bleed) sometime soon??
