I was, uhm, fooling around tonight and found a swollen area to the right of my vagina. It doesn't hurt, it doesn't feel hard. It's soft to the touch, and I can press it without hurting. I contorted myself to look in a mirror (lol) and I don't see any puss or anything, it just looks like a swollen area, maybe around an inch wide. No unusual discharge or anything. I'm close to my period, if that matters at all.
From what I can tell on google, it looks like a Bartholin's cyst. And all I'm reading is warm compresses and sitz baths. Is that it? Anything else I should do? What causes this to happen, is there something I did wrong (or didn't do right)? Anything I can do to prevent it in the future?
