Lingering Yeast Infection

Hi everyone,
I've been reading VP for a while, but I just joined because I have an annoying problem with a yeast infection. I have never had a YI before this one, and the symptoms appeared a few weeks ago - insane itching, tons of watery discharge, bready smell. I had heard that yogurt is a good way of treating it, so I used that, and it seemed to make things go away for a bit. But the symptoms came back full force, so I went to the doctor last week and she confirmed my self-diagnosis and gave me a prescription for a 3 day supply of Terconazole. She said that Monistat would work, too, and I could choose whichever was cheaper. The Terconazole helped a lot and I initially thought the infection had cleared. In the last few days, though, it has started to itch down there again, although nowhere near as badly as before. My discharge has been pretty normal for me, but it still smells kind of bready - definitely not my usual scent. I'm not sure what to do, as I suspect the infection is lingering. I really don't want to go back to the doctor. Should I try Monistat? Any other recommendations?
As a sidenote, I was also given a full battery of STI checks last week, and all came back negative.
Thanks in advance for your help!
