bleeding for almost two weeks after annual exam?

Hey everyone,

So on the 14th of June I had my annual exam and pap smear. It doesn't normally hurt but when the speculum went in I felt a little twinge of pain. I figured I was just tense and that was that. On Saturday (the 16th) I got my period which was totally unexpected. I take my birth control pill continuously and only take a week off every three months. If I miss a pill on accident, I normally spot for a couple of days and that is it, but I don't remember missing a pill and my pack is on the right day. Anyway... I am still bleeding today. This is very unusual for me. Since I was 11, even before birth control, my periods have always been exactly 5 days long - no more, no less. This is day 12! Yikes!

Today I was thinking about it and I'm wondering if maybe I have a cut rather than this being my period. The bleeding is bright red especially when I use the bathroom - basically the same color as if I had a papercut on my finger. I noticed that I tend to bleed more after using the bathroom - maybe wiping is disturbing a cut? I tried to look and see if there was anything but I didn't notice anything except that after I looked, there was a gush of blood, leading me to believe that there is a tear. Maybe that's why it hurt when the speculum went in? If there is a cut, why the heck won't it stop bleeding? I'm getting really tired of it. Is there anything I can do to make it heal faster?

Oh - and I did call my doctor's office earlier this week. The nurse basically said "a pap smear can't cause bleeding, it's probably just due to stress (I have less stress in my life than ever right now) or a diet change, I wouldn't worry about it" and that was that.

Thanks!

Is my labia minora normal? What is this bump?

Hi everyone, looking for a bit of reassurance if possible and hoping you can tell me if this is normal (also sorry for tmi).
So I have quite short labia minora and I notice that when I feel them they feel quite smooth at the top but as I move my fingers down towards the bottom (towards my vagina) they feel quite bumpy, nothing particularly stands out and you can't see anything really,  but you can feel it, the texture is different (it's like where my labia minora joins the rest of my vulva the skin thickens a little and has more texture). If I rub the minora skin between my fingers at this area it actually feels like there are small stones in there and I was just wondering if this is normal?  I also have a singular lump on my right minora which is under the skin and quite small.... Could this be a blocked gland of some sort?
I've had two sexual partners in my life, I've had the same one for six years now, plus I have been checked twice for genital warts at the gum clinic (at my own request a month apart as these bumps were really concerning me) plus my partner shows no sign of warts so I am sure that these are not warts.
Also, just to confirm what I am talking about is not fordyce spots (the tiny tiny whitish dots under the skin).
Hoping someone. An reassure me and tell me I'm normal :o)
Thanks!

how much pubic hair is normal?

Soon after I first got pubic hair I seemed to have a ridiculous amount with it growing out the bottom of my underwear. At that time it was just growing below the bottom of bikini style underwear. Now in my early thirties I have pubic hairs (thick, dark) growing as low as halfway down my thigh although much more sparsely than in the pubic region. I'm wondering if this travelling pubic hair is normal or should I be worried about a hormonal issue or something?

Warts

I found out today from my Gyno that I have genital warts. I noticed them about 5 months ago but the doctor I went to said they just looked like skin tags and weren't warts. I'm now dating someone else and have to tell them what's up. I'm a little nervous since we haven't been dating very long.

My doctor didn't seemed too concerned and said that 85% of people have this strand of HPV but not everyone has warts. She also said that condoms don't always protect against warts (mine are external). I'm still not sure how to feel about this.

What are other people experiences?
