Heavy Periods

So, as generic and simple as this may seem, I need some help with how heavy my periods are.
I find myself going through a super tampon every hour (and before you say that's too much, I've already been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, and theres no treatment) and i didnt know if there's anything i can do to help this. I've also tried the cup to extend times between changing, and many types of birth control. I can't get an IUD because my dr said my uterus was too small, depo shots would make an already heavy girl like myself gain weight, and i dont know of anyhting else.
any help?
Hello again, lovelies. I seem to be having body weirdness every few weeks, so I'm back again.

Background: I've been stacking my pills for almost 3 years, taking a placebo week once every three months (12 weeks on, 1 week off). For the first year I did this, I had spotting in the weeks leading up to my placebo week, but that tapered off and for almost two years I've been spotting-free.

Until yesterday. I have one more week of active pills before I take my placebo week, and I started having extremely light spotting yesterday (I was wearing a skirt with no underwear and there was no mess or wetness on me, I just saw the faintest tinge of pink on the toilet paper) and it has continued into this morning. I have not missed any pills, and I take them within a half hour of the same time every day, as I always have.

I live on the top floor of my apartment building, and all I have is a window air conditioning unit that doesn't cool very effectively and that I run only occasionally, since it's so expensive to power. I keep my pills with me in my bag, so some of the time they're in my air conditioned office or classrooms, but whenever I'm home, they're home, and it can get at least 10 degrees warmer in my apartment than outside, and it's been in the mid to high eighties for the past two weeks or so. Could the heat be affecting my pills and explain the spotting?

One other detail: I took my placebo week a week early during my last cycle because I wanted bleeding-free sex on my anniversary. So my cycle will be one week of active pills longer than it usually is this time around; however, I am currently finishing up the 12th week of active pills, so I don't see how this is affecting anything as 12 weeks of active pills is what my body is used to. Could shortening my last cycle by a week be coming back to bite me in the ass, in the form of spotting? Like, my body's going, "Hey, shouldn't I have started bleeding this week"

Any information or personal experiences? Thank you!

Spotting for over a year

Hi everyone -

I am 24 and in a monogamous relationship. Up until about March 2009, my periods were always normal. They were regular and I never had any bleeding outside of my 4-5 day period. I started on Kariva around that time and soon started spotting every month before my period. At first it was a day or two before my period, but eventually I was spotting for a full 7 days before I got my period. I had been on Kariva for a while in college with zero issues.

I finally got tired of it and went to my doctor to get a new prescription. She gave me Aviane and said it tends to help with breakthrough bleeding. The first month sucked since I spotted for 3 weeks, but I didn't worry since I know changing pills can throw your body out of whack.

After the first month on the new pill, I was good as new. I went for 3 months with NO spotting! Hooray! Then, in April, I started spotting again. A full week before my period. It happened again in May. The spotting is minimal at first, but gets heavier the closer I get to my period. Yesterday I went through 4 or 5 panty liners (I'm supposed to start my period today).

I am going to see my doctor on Friday, but I don't even know what questions to ask. When I was there before, she told me that if the spotting persisted that she would start looking at 'anatomical' causes. I've done some googling which has been somewhat helpful. I'm just afraid of being written off by my doctor. What should I ask? What are possible causes of persistent spotting? I don't understand why I would be fine for 3 months on my new pill but suddenly start spotting again. What could be behind that? Should I try another new pill?

Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

edit: I have never missed a pill and take it within a 1 hour window every day.

Helping out a friend

Hello everyone! My friend doesn't have a lj account so I promised I would post this for her.

She is currently having a difficult time having sex with her boyfriend. He is too large and she is too small. They have tried, but it led to tearing for her. Their emotional relationship is still strong, but she would like to work on fully embracing their physical relationship. What can she do to accomodate his size and what can he do to avoid further tearing and injury?

I recommended that there are other things they can do besides PIV sex, but that is even difficult because he is too big. She can't fit his penis in her mouth and he claims to not like handjobs. At the same time, I know that none of this is the same as actually having sex. She really wants that connection and she is feeling really down about it. Please help my friend out!

Thanks ahead for all tips and advice! :)

using BC as EC

Hi superstars,
along my reading up on Emergency contraception and its effects i read somewhere that BC can also be used as EC by ways of taking 4 pills (depending on brand and such) first then another 4 pills 12 hours later. I'm guess you would take these one after the other. Does anyone have any feedback on this method? Personally i am not on BC at the moment, or in need for EC but this would be good thing to know,
TIA =)
I checked all the back entries on yeast infections, as well as the FAQ, and couldn't find the answer to this question, so hopefully you can help me. :)

I got my first yeast infection; it was very mild and my doctor recommended I use Monistat to clear it up. I bought Monistat 7 and used it for the first time last night. Today, I feel perfectly fine down there- no itching or anything. Is it all right for me to stop treatment now since I don't have symptoms anymore? Or will I create super-yeast that's resistant to treatment if I don't use the full course?

Thanks!

Annoying bump

Hello, I've never posted here before but I thought this would be an appropriate time. I was in the shower yesterday evening and my nether region felt irritated. I felt down there and there is a little bump-under-the-skin kind of thing. It's really tiny; I can't think of any object to compare it to. If I could think of any name I would say it feels like a cyst because it's hard but it can move around a little. The area doesn't seem to be inflamed, but it does hurt a little. It feels a little itchy right now but probably because I'm thinking about it; it hasn't itched before right now.

I have only been with two boyfriends; both who have never been with anyone else and I've had a recent STD check. (Not the blood test though). I don't think it's an STD...

I started using cloth panty liners/pads/cup a couple months ago, and the day the bump appeared happened to be the day I sewed myself a panty liner. I washed it before making it, but not after. I also started using family cloth instead of tp. Do you think this could have anything to do with it? Probably not..

Anyway, I would just like to know if anyone on here could know what it could be. I think if it doesn't go away in a few days I will see my gynecologist.
Hi! I realize I've been posting a lot lately, but I just keep on thinking of more things that I've been wondering/ have been questioning. Also I'm really paranoid about what my girly bits are doing, because I'm about to see my fb after two weeks separation (this is long for us) and I know a lot of sexin' is about to happen. I just want to make sure everything is in working order.

For about three weeks now I've had a white, clumpy discharge. It's not really noticeable until I insert either my fingers or anything else in my vagina, and even then it's only a light, clumpy coating. I'm a curious soul so I can say that it tastes a bit sourish at first. It doesn't smell fishy or anything, just...I don't even know how to describe it... kind of musty I guess. Not bad, but not like anything I've had before.

Now, I researched on Google and read through the tags of vp, and it doesn't really sound like a yeast infection, because there's no itching or swelling or anything, but I don't think it's normal. Would it be bad if I just went ahead and assumed it's a yeast infection (my gyno is about 5 hours away from me right now), and treated it like one with maybe garlic and/or yogurt? It shouldn't hurt right? If it's a very light yeastie it should make it go away, if it's not the treatment shouldn't hurt anything, right?

Also, if I do go ahead and do the whole garlic thing, does it smell garlicy? Can I go about my regular business without being paranoid that I smell? (I don't usually eat garlic, like, ever, so it would raise questions lol!) And does it hurt/how do I go about it?

Thanks gals!

Ovulation Question

Is it possible to ovulate while on birth control, today I noticed some discharge, white and slime like, and it was like stretchy, I have noticed it before. And thought that was what it was, but I thought when on bc pills that did not happen, I am on loestrin 24. And if you do ovulate while on the pill is it still possible to get pregnant?
