Different cramps other than uterine ones during period

Does anybody else get bladder/rectum cramps along with their period cramps? I have always had rectal cramps ever since I started my periods & in the past 6 months or so I've started getting bladder cramps with the feeling of needing to urinate more often with the cramps. Is this normal?

EDIT: Could it be signs of endemetriosis? I really hope not!! But when I googled it all the results related to that. I know Dr. Google is bad and everything is usually cancer but still :P A little reassurance/advice would be good.

FAM questions, xposted from FAM

I don't have my copy of TCOYF anymore, and I'm curious about the reasoning behind the 3 and 4 day rule for TTA.

I know you're supposed to wait until 3 days post temp shift AND 4 days post Peak day. I understand this is precautionary, but my question is, if it was a true temp shift, is it actually possible to get pregnant 3 days afterward? I ask because my CM can be pretty ambiguous (EW is recognizable, but I have creamy/sticky every day of my cycle, so I never really 'dry up'-- also, for this reason I don't have any unprotected sex before my temp shift.) I can reliably confirm my temp shift with *intense* breast tenderness, which has appeared the day after my temp shift since I started charting 9 months ago.

Most often, I get EW until the day before my temp shift, and then creamy for the rest of my cycle. So I tend to count the first day after my temp shift as the first day post Peak day, usually even if the EW ends a day before that. But this month, I slipped up and had unprotected sex on the afternoon of day 3 post temp shift. Any idea what my chances of pregnancy are from that encounter?

I'm not planning on doing that again, but just so I understand better, is one safe for sex ON the third day, or AFTER the third day?

very late period, not pregnant

my periods have been regular nearly all the time - i think i've skipped one cycle a few times, but other than that they have stayed mostly regular. the last time i got a menstrual cycle was in mid-late november (i never bothered to chart, which i will change after i get my period back!)

potentially relevant information:
- i have never had sex with a man, so pregnancy is out of the question
- for the last week or so my breasts have been EXTREMELY tender/sore, but only when touched
- i recently stopped drinking soda entirely (previously i had probably a minimum of 24 oz. of soda a day, and it was insanely unhealthy so i quit cold turkey in early january and experienced no problems except a few headaches)
- i don't know if this is REALLY relevant or not, but lately (since the last period) i've taken a HUGE interest in childbirth and having children whereas i didn't care about these things at all previously
- i am not stressed
- i am not on birth control or any other medication
- i am 19

is there any reason i should worry? other than the breast tenderness i have no other symptoms of anything. should i go to a doctor (i would prefer to only do this if it sounds as though there's a legitimate problem)? could the sudden dramatic drop in caffeine from my diet take away the period?

any help or insight would be great, TIA!

cramping after orgasm

right, I am probably going to come across as a dumb first time pregnant broad. See here is the issue. I am NOT pregnant. At least I hope I am not, given that I am 10 months post partum with my first born son (who says hi by the way, he's trying to get at the keyboard to do so), and have a Mirena coil in place.

I am fully aware of having cramps after orgasms during pregnancy, though admittedly if it happened to me they were mild enough that I didn't notice. However, last night, after having a lovely slow round of lovemaking with my hubby (I was on top if it makes any difference, I have no idea, I'm not exactly shy to discuss this stuff, can you tell?) during which I got my happies twice, had a bit of a kiss and a canoodle while still mounted on my man in the warm and fuzzies after, finally I get off and WHOA! Hold the phone! I am cramping up like I haven't since I was a teenager with menstrual cramps that used to put me in bed for at least two days of every period and the very reason I went onto hormonal birth control in the first place. Ow, like ow! I have not felt pain like that since labour for crying out loud! Admittedly the worst is over in five minutes but a background reasonably heavy cramp remained until I fell asleep about 10 minutes later, thankfully gone by morning.

And what confuses me is that hubby and I have been having sex since six weeks after delivery and no cramping. So... is my body just throwing me a loop just because it can? Is there something else going on... and because I can't get the damn question out of my head and for damn peace of mind, is a pee stick pregnancy test accurate if you have a Mirena in place. (I have a spare test in the house, I bought a box of two when I was late with my period. I only needed one and 30 seconds to know I was pregnant so it sits there waiting to be used. I may just take it for peace of mind....)

Ladies, your thoughts please.

How late is too late for a period?

Hi all,

So I've got a bit of a dilemma. I'm on day 55 of my cycle, with no period in sight. Since coming off the Pill 10 months ago it's been extremely erratic (once, I didn't bleed for 2 months, then I bled for 20 days straight) but I assured myself it was my body adapting to being off HBC and it would settle. Now I'm not so sure.

Husband and I don't use any contraception, and would be happy with any pregnancy if it did occur but we're not actively trying to conceive (as in checking ovulation, etc). I chart my temps and mucus just so I can be more aware of what's going on. But as any good FAM practicer knows, pregnancy would be shown in the charts by a large rise in temperature for over 7 days. My temps are extremely low, so I'm fairly sure I'm not pregnant. Meaning there's something else that's delaying my period. I'm almost sure it's not anything to do with diet or stress, eiher.

So the question is, how long do I wait for my period before I go see someone? And for those who know a bit about FAM, am I right in saying that it's impossible for me to be pregnant as long as my temps are low?

Warts not responding to treatment.

I posted a couple of weeks ago about how I found out I have gential warts. I've been going for weekly treatments, and while some of them are going away (I managed to pull one off after a treatment when I was in the bathtub. That was...interesting, LOL), they still seem to be spreading. The PA said that I should come back for one more treatment and if that didn't work, they'd bring in the doctor and he'd put some other sort of liquid on there. If THAT didn't work.. I'd have to find another doctor that does laser treatments or surgical removal, but those are usually only reserved for the larger warts, which I don't have.

I'm kind of at the end of my rope here. I can't afford anything beyond what they're providing unless I get a stroke of luck and find it reasonably affordable.

This has been such a trying time for me. First, I'm uprooted from Germany where I was living with my husband. I came back home and started a relationship with a friend from high school. I caught warts from him (which he didn't know he could still pass on...I think he was more upset about the whole thing than I was). My birthday was ruined due to snow and a kabillion other things. My divorce was final this past Friday.

I. Can't. Catch. A. Break.

Luckily, I have friends and family that are supportive as hell. To the point where I'm bawling my eyes out everytime they give me an inspirational "buck up!" speech. I just feel so blessed despite everything that's been going on.

Blahblah. I'm rambling.

Any words of advice? Wisdom? Experience?

Complexion Complications

So I've been on the pill for about a month and a half now. Everything's fine, no major side affects, except for stubborn acne. I've never had problems getting rid of a zit. But now my skin is a mess. Nothing monstrous, just the kind of pimples you can feel deep under the skin. Nothing I'm doing is helping. Anybody else have problems with acne after starting the pill? Is it worth a Dermatologist appointment?

Words of Advice Please

I need your opinions to ease my worrying mine. Last night my boyfriend and I had sex with a condom. It was going fine the entire time until the very end when he pulled out because he felt like he had to finish (condom or not he always pulls out). That's when we realized that in the last few minutes of sex the entire condom ripped. While he never actually finished and came, although he felt like he had to, I'm so worried. The condom was ripped for the last 2 minutes or so, and to top it off between last night/today I'm pretty positive I'm ovulating.

What worried me most, is that when I stood up clear fluid from me got all over the bed, and it smelt like the latex condom. And when I touched it (sorry to be gross) it looked just like any female clear mucus but smelt like the condom (at first I thought it smelt like sperm!) Could that have been something he didn't realize he secreted in me, or was it just my own fluids?

What are the chances I will become pregnant? I was going to get a EC but I read that if ovulating it will not work! Idk what to do, he never actually ejaculated but you never know if somehow sperm could have been released in the last few mins when the condom broke! I'm panicking, and of course when my periods due in 2 weeks its my 21st birthday...I don't need any surprises :( Why did it have to break at the end like that!! :(

Also, he has came early in the morning...idk if that matters but I have read that more a man ejaculates the less powerful his load of sperm? Idk!

Words of advice/Similar Experience!? Thank you. :)

Birth control, blood pressure, panic

Hello VPers,

I've been taking Alesse for about 7 months. When I was initially prescribed the pill, they gave me a 3 month dosage and asked me to come back for a checkup to see how it was working out after the first 3 months (pretty standard, I guess). My doctor is extremely thorough and mentioned that they'd have to check my blood pressure, heart rate, etc. to see if the HBC was having any negative effects. I couldn't get an appointment with my regular doctor because she was sick, so I ended up seeing a different doctor, who just asked me if I was having any problems with the pill and didn't do any sort of physical checkup. A few months later, (about 3 weeks ago, now) I had another appointment with my regular doctor and forgot to mention that I hadn't had my blood pressure checked yet, so I didn't have it checked then. I was having some other issues with Alesse (persistent nausea, spotting) so I asked for a different pill, and she prescribed me Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, which I haven't started taking yet.

This weekend it occurred to me that I should probably check my blood pressure, and my parents have one of those at-home BP checkers. So I used it yesterday, and got a reading of 140/100. I checked it again today and got a similar reading. Cue panic. I'm 21 years old, and have always had normal-to-low blood pressure. In spite of a few negative things, I actually had a fairly good experience with the pill, and it had some surprisingly positive side effects for me (more balanced moods, fewer headaches, great skin). A little weight gain as a side effect is no biggie, but elevated blood pressure is NOT OK. I'm feeling a bit freaked out about it. I'm going to go in to my school's clinic and have a nurse check my blood pressure to make sure the at-home monitor is accurate, and go from there. But for now I'm confused. I thought that high BP was a fairly rare side effect of HBC - have any of you experienced it? What did you do about it? How long did it take to return to normal? Can it improve by switching to another pill? Have I screwed up my health forever? Is death imminent (kidding...sort of =/)? I was due to start taking my new Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo yesterday but didn't because I was a bit panicked. Should I start taking it anyway? I will ask my doctor all these questions, but it will be at least a week or two before I see her, and I could use a little reassurance from you knowledgeable folks.

Watery bleeding after using a pessary?

This is kinda a long story but I'd really like some advice so I'll really appreciate if anyone reads it :) It's sort of TMI, but I guess that's the whole point of this community :)

Background: Only ever been with one guy, he's only been with someone else once and they used a condom. So basically I don't think this can be STI-related. I've been on birth control for about 4 years.

I had thrush a couple of times years ago, and have recently been itchy with some pain after sex, but without the usual discharge that comes with thrush - I rang the doctor and he prescribed me a Clotrimazole pessary, just in case it was thrush, and told me to ring back if it didn't work. So I put the pessary in before I went to bed, but the next day there was all this white stuff in my knickers - I don't know if I didn't put the pessary in far enough or what (although I put it in 'as far as was comfortable', like it told me to), because it was dissolved and all kind of oozing out... so I'm not sure if it worked properly - I haven't been itchy since, but then the itchiness was only intermittent anyway, so I don't know if that necessarily means it worked or not.

Anyway, the problem is this: yesterday (2 days after I did the pessary), I sort of started bleeding - not full on blood like a period, basically just really really diluted blood, like a runny, slightly pink discharge... could this be due to the pessary? Due to whatever problem it was that caused the itchiness in the first place? Or due to the fact that I've run two sets of pills together this month? (I do this fairly often to avoid periods at inconvenient times, probably not the best idea but I've never had any problems and no bleeding like this before)

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Navel pain post-ovulation

For the last few months, I've been getting this pain just to the right of my navel. It's intermittent, but only happens in the second half of my cycle (generally from ovulation right up to my period, maybe a day or two into the period too). It's not like a cramp at all -- much sharper, like being jabbed with something pointy. Any ideas what it could be?

I know this is a stupid question but I'll ask anyways.

Ok, today I went to the dentist office and she asked me a weird question, "Are you pregnant?" I'm like why would she ask me a question like that for dental work? It's like asking that question if your're doing an eye exam ya know.

I do have a little bit of a belly for a small person and people could mistaken that for pregnancy. So, I did have sex in January but I did get my period in Febuary, for at least four or five days and it was kinda heavy too. So I mean you can't be pregnant if you have your period duh. But it still makes me paranoid. People are gonna think I'm knocked up but I'm not. I guess my question is could I possibly be? I know it's stupid lol. And he did use a condom and I was kinda on birth control heh.

Experiences on Low Dose Depo?

Yesterday I was reading through the packet Planned Parenthood gave me regarding the Depo, and it briefly mentioned that there is a low-dose option of the shot. I haven't heard of it before, and google doesn't really have that much information. Their main website is 'under construction' as well. So I have come to ask you ladies! I like the depo because I am very forgetful, but the side effects have been particularly bad for me, and my mom mentioned once how she doesn't take birth control because of something about blood clots, which worries me as well. I imagine a low-dose shot would lessen the risk of me having such harse side effects?

Basically, I'd just like to hear some experiences from people who have been on this version of the depo, especially if you can compare the side effects to the regular version :) TIA!

orgasms/good feelings while sleeping

i have never had a huge orgasm before, but sometimes i wake up and feel like i've never felt before, its so great that even if i just squeeze my legs together, it feels so good. i never have a "relief" from it, so i dotn know if its an orgasm.
anyway, i want to have orgasms from my boyfriend as well, and i recently stopped taking zoloft, so hopefully itll be happening soon. ive been on antidepressants for years and due to a recent feeling of being healthy, i am not taking the zoloft. so, hopeuflly the "delayed orgasm" side effect will be going away soon.
i wanted to know...how can i orgasm? its a simple question, but would a vibrator really help? and where do i start? im sorry, i just want to experience it so badly.
