Types of UTI Onset

Oh dear...another UTI question! I've only had one many years ago and it began as slight burning with urination, and within *hours* I was peeing blood and puking with a huge fever. Antibiotics helped fast.

Has anyone gotten a UTI that began slowly? Simply with getting up in the middle of the night a few times to pee, then frequent urination during the day a bit for a couple of days, followed by mild discomfort that got more persistent? Right now I do not yet have the burning, bleeding, etc...just the feeling I have to urinate all the time.

At this stage, were you able to knock it out with Azo cranberry pills or Cystex (if so, please tell me which you prefer)?

Thanks so much!
