I had posted a few posts back that I was starting the nuvaring on July 1st because my gyno thinks my insomnia and migraines around my period are due to an estrogen drop. This kind of leaves me screwed for June though. My sleep has been off and the migraines have been bad for about 2-3 weeks now. My clinic has an online portal where you can send you doctor questions.

I sent him one on the 17th asking if there was any type of supplement or food I could add to my diet for June to deal with the insomnia and migraine. I am bipolar and VERY hard to knock out and the insomnia is something I struggle with, but HAD been under control. I am on a combination of clonidine and seroquel for sleep and I also take my zonegran for migraines at night and that usually puts me to sleep. I just can't STAY asleep. I'm waking up anywhere between 2-4 times a night and not able to fall back asleep for a while.

I got a response back today through the portal from the nurse, not addressing the headaches at all and offering to call in a prescription for Ambien. I am bipolar and react differently to meds and EVERYTHING in the ambien family makes me hyper and manic.

So I guess I'm asking here. Does anyone know of anything I can supplement with or add to my diet to raise my estrogen levels till my stupid period gets here and I can sleep again? I'm a vegetarian if that makes any difference
