PCOS stress

I just posted a few days ago about noticing hair on my neck and worrying about PCOS. Well, I visited the GP today and he says he thinks I DO have PCOS. He pulled up my test results from last year and said while my testosterone level was normal, something else was elevated and could indicate PCOS. He also thinks my neck/chin hair is 'abnormal' and noted that I do have acne and a little weight around my belly (while being generally slim).

I'm super angry about this, as I visited the doctor so many times last year and they reassured me that I didn't have it. I was told that I had polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome. I was also told today that the skin condition on my fingers (dismissed as 'eczema' by my last GP) looks like Acanthosis nigricans. From what I've read, this most often indicates insulin resistance, but my last 2 fasting glucose tests were fine. The GP today said that means I don't have an issue, but given how much I've been jerked around in the last year, I'm reluctant to trust any doctor now. Are those tests reliable or is there a different one I should ask for?
