possible YI -- pain during/after sex

I suspect I may have a YI coming on. I felt some pain during PIV sex with my partner today -- mild, but definitely noticeable -- followed by noticeable soreness afterwards, which lasted for a couple hours. The last time I got a YI (following a round of antibiotics), this pain/soreness seemed to be my first indicator. However, at that time, the pain was a lot worse and the soreness lasted for the rest of the day. Now, I haven't done anything that might cause me to get a YI this time around -- no antibiotics, I've been taking acidophilus every day, etc -- so I'm not 100% sure whether this is an oncoming YI or simply pain/soreness due to rough sex and too little lube. I won't be able to see a doctor until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest.

If this is an oncoming YI, I'd like to nip it in the bud as soon as possible, if I can. Here's my question: is it safe to use certain home treatments (internal use of yogurt, garlic, tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, etc) without being 100% sure that I do, in fact, have a YI? Or should I just lay off until I'm able to get tested by a doc?

Also, could the pain during/after sex be an indication of anything else going on down there? It was mild during intercourse, but there was some definite burning and a bit of swelling afterward. It was the first day we'd had sex in a little over a week due to other complications, the sex itself was rather rough, and we didn't use as much lube as we should've, so there's a chance the soreness came from all that.
