I posted about this a few months ago, but the issue is back.
I've always generally started my periods with bright red blood, having little to no warning that the period is on its way. Then I get 4-5 days of bleeding. However, for the last 6 months or so, I've had this weird brown spotting for up to 3 days, then sometimes a day of barely any discharge, then my real period arrives. I mentioned this to the doc last time I was there and she seemed to think it was abnormal and did swabs for chlamydia and other infections but everything came back normal. I'm just a little worried, as this is so different to any period I've had in the past, and it ends up making my period up to 8 or 9 days long. I had a pelvic ultrasound a year ago but when I was tested for PCOS, was told I didn't have it. My testosterone levels and everything were normal. Could I have developed it since then? Is there any other reason this could be happening?
