As some of you might remember, I had an endometrial ablation in November 2010 to control heavy menstrual bleeding. After the 3-cycle mark, I was talking to my NP about it during my annual check up. We agreed that the procedure had been an underwhelming success and could use some bolstering. She happened to have some free samples of Lysteda; I happened to have still heavy periods and no contraindications for the drug. We agreed that it would be worth a try, and so at the beginning of my next period, I did.
Now, I am no stranger to long bleeding, but this past period -- the one where I used Lysteda -- lasted 23 days. Though my total flow was only about 1005mL (that's freakishly light for me, I promise), I am still not thinking this is a winning situation. It's not really more manageable to go from PMS pain --> menstrual pain --> directly back to PMS pain, which is what's happened this month.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with tranexamic acid? It's not listed as a reported side effect, but I just thought I'd check.
