vaginismus + possible pregnancy?

First off, apologies for the sockpuppet/dummy account. I'm a long time reader of this lovely community, but I'd just like to remain anonymous.

Anyway, I have a couple of questions:

1). I had sex with my boyfriend about a month ago (he used a condom; I'm not on the pill) and his penis would just not go in for anything. It hurt/burned, etc. when trying to get it in. After a few minutes of trying to force it in, we just gave up. A couple of days later I got my first UTI (I'm 20 and had never had one up until this point.) I'm definitely thinking I have vaginismus - does this sound right/familiar to any of you ladies who have had this problem? If it does sound like I have it, what can I do to cure it, and would I be likely to get a UTI every time I have sex once it is cured?

2). My periods are usually a couple of days apart from each other each month. For example, I could get my period on the 14th but then the next month it comes on the 16th or 17th. I was due to start mine yesterday (the 24th) and still no sign of it. I know I shouldn't be freaking out too too much about a possible pregnancy, but I'm a little freaked out because of my recent (attempt at) sex. I don't think our condom broke, otherwise my boyfriend would have said something, because he is very safe about sex (he had sex a few times with his last girlfriend and has assured me that is is "paranoid" about getting a girl pregnant [and kudos to him for being that aware/"paranoid"!], so he is safe with sex.) So I'm wondering if it is worth forking out the money for a home test kit or wait and see if my period is a no-show by the end of the month and if it is a no-show, buy the kit then. Being a college student, I simply cannot handle a pregnancy at this point, particularly since I want to get an advanced degree after my undergrad. Plus there's the whole his-family-and-my-family-would-disown-us thing if it turned out I was pregnant.

Thanks so much in advance for any help/advice/comments/suggestions!
