So around probably the 6th, 7th or 8th of February I was finishing my period. I put my smaller menstrual cup in. Today (the 18th) I discovered it still there :( :(. As you can imagine the results have not been pleasant. I think it's a bloody miracle I don't have TSS or something similar. I don't even think I have a yeast infection, I just have a lot of foul smelling gunk up there that I can't get rid of. Thankfully there was next to no blood left to collect, it seems to be mainly discharge. If anyone wants to know graphic details of what it was like feel free to ask >.> Safe to say, it was disgusting and rather traumatic.
So my question is, having never douched before, what should I do? Can I just buy a turkey baster and make a solution of ACV and water? Do I just have to wait? I'm not interested in douching with something that may give me a yeastie, though I wonder if not being able to get this gunk out will just increase the chances of getting one. I've tried getting the shower head all up in there, but it doesn't get right /in/ there (I wish I owned a speculum at this point). It's a continual reminder of a rather horrific experience :( :( You don't want to be pulling a cup that's been inside you for a minimum of 10 days out.
Also, do I need to wash my cloth pads/knickers in hot water or dry them in the sun or whatever to get rid of possible yeast? Thanks for any help. I feel a right git :\ But it goes to show that mistakes can happen to anyone, I guess. If it'd been a tampon it would have rotted and caused more problems, though perhaps I would have noticed sooner. :\ Is there any hope for my cup? I've just sat it in a cup of dettol antiseptic for now, to kill the smell.
And in conclusion, I had sex multiple times with it in, I'd started treating myself with yeast infection cream with a plastic applicator two days ago, and it's only today I'd noticed it :\ Hope my honesty makes someone feel better later on, ugh. I feel horrid :( :(
