I'm having a problem I was hoping I could trouble you with: For the past two weeks or so, I have been fighting a urinary tract infection. It's been uncomfortable, but bearable. I have no pain when I urinate, I've just been going WAY more often. Occasionally I have bladder pain, and occasionally my urine is foggy.
Can I go to the doctor and get antibiotics even though I don't think I have a full blown infection? My thing is that I'm very poor. Not only am I very poor, but I owe the doctor money. If I want to be seen, I have to pay at least part of my bill. I don't want to go and do that if it turns out they won't treat me since this UTI is not completely here. I only want to go if the doctor would give me medicine for this.
I've tried taking cranberry pills and everything I can to fight the infection on my own, but it's not getting better.
Does anybody have experience with this? Have any of you gone to the doctor when the UTI hasn't fully hit you, was the doctor willing to give you medicine anyway? Thanks SO much. I really can't afford to go to the doctor if they won't be able to help me at this point. But at the same time, it's been like this for two weeks and it's driving me crazy. Like I said, it's bearable. I don't have that horrible pain when urinating. It's just a pain that I'm urinating SO frequently and it's annoying that my bladder hurts slightly and just feels uncomfortable.
Thanks in advance. :)
