Chronic yeast infection, Boric Acid, and switching BC

 Hi VPers,

I've been fighting a nasty yeast infection since the start of September. Recently, my doctor gave me 5 pills of diflucan to take for 5 days in a row. Nothing. So, she decided to switch my birth control and prescribe boric acid suppositories. I have 2 questions:

1. I get my period next week Wednesday, and I'll pick up the suppositories on Fri (I have to go home to get them since I go to school in the boonies). Can I take those while I'm on my period? Or am I better off waiting until I'm done with my flow? She gave me a two week supply, but I'm not sure what that means. Do insert one a night for 2 weeks, or just until I feel better?

2. I went to the obgyn for the first time when I was 18. That's when I started Loestrin 24 Fe. I've never had a problem, but I want to confront this yeast infection head on since it's overstayed it's welcome. She seems adamant that I should change my BC. After I get my period and finish my pack I'll switch to YAZ. For those of you who have tried it, how do you like YAZ? Can anyone tell me about switching BCs and what I might experience? I'm pretty nervous.

I know that's a lot of questions. Than you all so much :)
