For the VP Team
For 4 or so months now I have been having on and off abdominal pressure normally right below my belly button. Because it comes and goes I have kept holding off going to the gyno, but it’s getting to the point that I know it’s not some strange passing thing and that I probably need to get it checked out. I plan on going to my college clinic. The way the clinic works is I make an appointment explaining what's wrong and what I want done. I plan on going in for STD checking (gonorrhea and chlamydia ) as well as yeast and BV checking, but because I’m not sure what exactly it could be I don't know if I should ask if they can do any other testing/exams ? Also, while I am at the appointment are there any questions I should make sure to ask? Last but not least, I’m afraid that after the appointment I will not get a call back due to all the tests coming back as normal, and I will be left wondering what to do next if the pain doesn’t disappear.
My last STD (gonorrhea and chlamydia ) check, and pap smear was in Feb. I did not hear back, so I’m taking that as everything came back fine. I’ve been in a monogamous relationship since January. I have always used condoms regularly. I’m not (nor have ever been) on any form of bc.
My periods have been on time, normal length, and flow. I have noticed that even though my symptoms show up randomly all throughout my cycle, they seem to be the worst right before my period. The first time symptoms showed up was a day before my period, and lasted until a few days after. My periods have never been any trouble pain/cramp wise before this.
On and off abdominal pressure is an inch or so below my bellybutton. It feels like a pulling sensation and is definitely different than my normal cramps.
Sometimes the pain is lower, or will radiate all the way down the middle. It’s never on the sides.
It’s never super bad, but pretty annoying. It makes me feel as if I have to push on it or rub it.
(Google likes to say I’m pregnant as always. Oh you silly google.)
On and off vaginal burning and (once before last period) deep pelvic pain.
No recurring pain during/after intercourse or orgasms.
No itching or changes in smell, mucus, or passing urine. I’ve had a UTI before and it’s nothing like this.
