Sore near vagina - herpes or cut?

Hi all,

This is kind of a weird one. I've had food poisoning for a few days, including diarrhea, which always makes me paranoid about my vaginal health because of potential cross-contamination down there. Anyway, I've had some soreness right near the opening of my vagina. With a hand mirror, I see a smallish bump down there - it is flesh colored, but almost looks open on the top, like a sore. Which freaks me out, because of herpes.

Thing is, 5 1/2 years ago I had an HSV blood test for an unrelated medical purpose, which came back negative. I've never had a cold sore on my mouth or genitals. Also, I've been monogamous with my husband for 6 1/2 years, and he has never had a cold sore on his lips or anywhere else.

Given this history, does it seem possible this could be herpes? Does it sound like it's more likely related to my food poisoning - excessive wiping, moisture, potential bacteria? Maybe I should dab a little Neosporin on it to see if that helps?

Anyone else had a similar problem?
