This is more a curiousity question than a I-have-a-problem question. It seems that I'm going to skip my period this month and it got me to wondering...when you skip your period, where does it go?! I mean, what is the biological mechinism by which you just don't menstrate, considering that you aren't pregnant or entering menopause? Does it mean you didn't ovulate the previous month? Does the lining of your uterus build up as usual but just not shed? Can there be multiple situations that can occur?
Also, why did I experience PMS without getting a period (if it can properly be called PMS in that case...perhaps pre-nothing-happened syndrome)?
