sore, itchy vagina

i am having trouble figuring out if i have a yeast infection or not. deep inside my vagina is very itchy, and sore if i touch it or cough. there is no burning pee, unusual discharge, or odd smells. i had sex the night before last, and even though he came inside me, i stupidly did not shower all day yesterday. could the semen have caused this? although i did clean myself up afterwards, i feel like maybe not showering was a bad idea.
whatever the case is, how do i treat this? i can't get to my doctor for at least another week and i'd like to avoid a walk-in clinic altogether. i know this question is probably asked a lot, but i couldn't find any similar posts to mine.

Sounds like a yeast infection, yes. I'd suggest using one of the home-remedies, in case it's not -- probiotics and yogurt (unsweetened, unflavored) are less likely to cause a problem than a chemical anti-yeast treatment if it's not yeast. (If you do go for the Monostat, I think it's called, get a 3 day or 7 day treatment; they are more likely to work and less likely to set your unhappy bits on fire, from what I've heard.)

Good luck!

Could be yeast, or possibly HSV, or an allergic reaction, or something else. I agree with the suggestion about using a mild home remedy like yogurt, just in case it's not yeast. Taking an OTC pain reliever may help with the soreness; on the off-chance it's an allergy, you may want to try taking an antihistamine and seeing if it helps relieve the itchiness.

Have you had rough manual sex lately? If so, it could just be some vaginal chafing. The sloughing of skin will itch, but you'll be fine in a few days.
