Nuvaring left out too long...action to take?

First of all, I'm a first time poster but a long time lurker. I just want to say thanks to all the amazing chicks out there helping other chicks, it's great :)

That said, I am in a little bit of a crisis.
I have been on the Nuvaring for 8 months. I am under the impression that I have used it 100% correctly for every single one of those months, until last night. I generally never remove my ring for sex, however, about a week ago I realized that this chafing pain I was experiencing during sex was caused by the ring. So I removed it for about 30 minutes, we had sex, and I immediately reinserted. This was the first time I've ever removed a ring for intercourse.
Last night at around 11:30pm, the boy and I had sex. I removed my ring, and to my horror fell asleep immediately after the act. I woke up at 5am in a panic because I realized I had forgot to reinsert it. I did so immediately, not sure what else to do.
I took Plan B today at around 11am (Plan B is supposedly most effective within 12 hours, so that is taken care of) but now I am unsure of my next step. Because I inserted the ring on the first, and it is now the 15th, I am technically on my third week of the ring. The nuvaring website says to either insert a new ring (not possible for me) or throw away the old one and allow yourself a period. I have removed the ring, but am now wondering if there are any more precautionary steps I should take, like inserting a new ring. Does anyone have any experience with this? And can anyone take a guess at how high a risk for pregnancy I am at? I'm more than a little freaked out, to say the least.
