Birth control advice

Hello everyone. I was hoping for some advice. I would really love to get pregnant as soon as possible, but for medical reasons I am not allowed to get pregnant for 6 months from now. I had the depo shot 3 months ago which has just run out. I can't say I liked it and don't intend on getting a new depo shot. I have an appointment to get an IUD, but I'm starting to wonder if that's the way I really want to go. I know I don't want to take the pill because I am absolutely hopeless with taking tablets let alone at the same time every day. While I was on the depo I had a 3 1/2 week period of full on bleeding. This was a big issue for me. I have been told that when you start on an IUD it can mess you up and make you bleed all over the place. I really, really don't want that. I was wondering if I might not have such an issue since I had that 3 week bleed and everything has gone already. Although it will be about 3 weeks between the end of the depo and when I'd get the IUD inserted, so perhaps not. I'm thinking something hormonal might not be the thing for me. Right now I'm leaning towards just the use on condoms (which I'll be using for the time being), however I am a little concerned that it wouldn't be as effective as I need. Any advice? TIA
