I was reading a thread on pregnancy a couple of posts down and I am wincing majorly thinking about tearing during childbirth. I was just wondering, how common is it to tear? Do they always cut you to help things out (I know there's a medical term for that, but I don't know it)? My one friend says that a woman can pretty much expect to tear...although I'm years away from being in a place when I have a child I've always wondered this, and to me this is the most cringe-worthy idea of giving birth. Are there things you can do to avoid this?
On the topic of avoiding pain during childbirth, I saw a clip on 20/20 (I think) about women who actually experience pleasure and orgasm while giving birth. Has anyone heard anything about it, or know how to achieve this? Here is the youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5bm9-B6Ec4 I feel skeptical about if this can actually happen...of course I just posted video evidence, but is it only for a select few women, or can you make it happen?
