My vagina and labia feel raw and sore and very uncomfortable. I would say this started about a week or 2 ago and has gotten progressively worse. I was feeling a little better yesterday and (stupidly) decided it would be okay to have sex, since I hadn't done so since all of this started. Well, needless to say, it's so much worse today. Do you think this is a yeast infection? I don't really have any discharge, in fact it feels kind of dryer than normal. But, I've had a YI before and my vagina gets raw feeling and like wrinkly-looking (for lack of better description) which is how it feels/looks now. I also think it is swollen. I started taking some probiotic pills that I had laying around the house, but I've tried several treatment methods in the past and the only thing that seems to help me is prescription Diflucan. Should I go ahead and ask my doctor to phone in a prescription for me? Do you think this is something that should be seen by a doctor?

Also, I've had about 4-5 yeast infections in the year and 1/2 I've been with my current boyfriend. He's uncircumsized, but says that he makes sure to keep everything clean. Prior to being with him, my ex-boyfriend was circumsized, and I never had a single YI in the 4 years we were having sex. Do you think my b/f being uncircumsized puts me at a greater risk of getting YIs? Is it possible that he has 1 too and we're transferring it back and forth? I don't know if that's the case because I only get them every 3-4 months, but it might be a possibility... Should I have him try treating himself? How do you go about treating a YI on a male?

Sorry I have SO many questions.

Thanks so much!
