My friend was on HBC for about five years. At the end of September, she went through a really bad breakup - LOTS of drama. She decided to stop taking HBC in early September. She had sex in mid-September with a non-latex condom (I rightly don't know exactly what kind of condom they used, but I do know he hated latex). She had a regular, albeit late, period in October. Given the amount of stress she was under with the breakup, the move, and starting a new job, no one was surprised she was late. In November, she had her period on time, but it only lasted one day. She usually bleeds for 4-5 days.
Now, thanks to all of you fantastic people, I told her that her cycles might be different and strange for a long time considering how long she was on HBC. She is freaking out that she might be pregnant. As far as I know, she is not experiencing any other pregnancy symptoms, but the worry is stressing her out, and I know that stress could affect her cycle as well. I know that she spent the night with a man in October and she swears up and down that she didn't have sex with him, but I'm not entirely sure I believe her considering how incredibly worried she is about pregnancy ... but my trust issues with my friend are really beyond the scope of my post here, haha.
So, my question: Am I misleading my friend by assuring her that she is not pregnant? If anyone has any good links to information regarding HBC "withdrawal" and the effects it has on your period I would really appreciate it!
