I'm not sure if this is an appropriate post here, so feel free to direct me to a different community or delete if necessary.
I've recently become really proactive about learning everything I can about female sexual and reproductive health, and I've become more and more disturbed by how long I went through life knowing so little about my body! It's made me so passionate about the subject that I'm starting to consider devoting some substantial time to it. I'm still in the early stages of thought about it, but I'm tossing around going back to school, perhaps to become a nurse practitioner in women's health? But I'm not sure if that's the best option for me. I know a few members of this community work in the field as counselors, practitioners, etc, and I guess I'm just looking for some advice of how to start researching what career paths include work of this nature, and I'd love advice about finding volunteer opportunities in the meantime.
