This is kind of embarrassing. I've been having periods for almost 15 years and I haven't worried about this since I was maybe 15 years old.
This period 3 people have told me they could smell my menstrual blood. Well, one person who knew I was on my period said (not in a way that was meant to be mean) she could smell my menstrual blood. And two people who didn't know I was on my period said they could smell blood while I was near them. This happened at 3 different times so I don't think it was one person just agreeing with the other or something else in the air or anything. The blood smell was probably me. I'm not too into smelling like blood for a week every month but I'm not sure what I can do about it that I'm not already doing.
I use a Diva Cup for internal protection but I bleed enough that I have to use a pad on the outside as back up. I shower at least once a day on my period, sometimes twice just to rinse off. And I carry wipes with me to use in the bathroom to get off as much of the blood as I can. I try drinking alot of water during the day because I've heard that staying hydrated can help with body smells in general. I don't know if it's helping here but it probably can't hurt. Also it doesn't smell awful or anything so I don't think it's an infection, just my regular period smell. What else can I try?
