itchiness before period?

Occasionally before my period, my vagina gets really really itchy and uncomfortable. It usually doesn't happen until about week before my period is supposed to start. This doesn't happen to me often, but it has happened the last two months. Is this normal or could it be something else and I need to see the doctor? Thanks :)

It's probably a yeast infection. A lot of women get them right before their periods, and they usually clear up during a period.

Like [Bad username: witherdin2ition"] pointed out, you're probably developing a yeast infection right before you period and then it clears up during mestruation because the blood rebalances your vaginal pH. If you want, you can take a look at some preventative measures.
